"Sun Blows Up Today" is a 2013 song by American psychedelic rock band the Flaming Lips. It was released as a single in January 2013, and later appeared as an iTunes bonus track on their thirteenth studio album, The Terror.[1]
Production
The song was written for a 2013 Hyundai Superbowl ad. Hyundai released 100,000 free downloads of the song on their website with the VP of marketing saying, "The Flaming Lips are very much like Hyundai. They're a little offbeat. They've been around a long time and they continue to reinvent themselves."[2]
The song was later included as the first of two iTunes bonus tracks from The Terror, which released on April 1, 2013.
